IIT Delhi Manasvi Programme

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi's Manasvi: STEM Mentorship Programme for High School Girls was recently held in the summer. The programme's goal is to encourage Delhi-NCR government school girls to pursue opportunities in STEM fields.

IIT Delhi Manasvi Programme: Overview

The programme engaged 120 Delhi-NCR government school girls in STEM learning through mentorship, lab visits, hands-on activities, and career guidance in science and technology fields.

Hands-On STEM Learning Experience

Students engaged in a variety of hands-on activities as part of the curriculum to increase their interest in science and technology. Participants gained practical experience with engineering topics by learning about electrical circuits and assembling solar lamps.

The students also went to the laboratories at IIT Delhi, where they saw scientific innovation, molecular biology, and biotechnology experiments. Through these exercises, students were better able to comprehend how concepts from the classroom are used in actual research and technological development.

Mentorship from IIT Delhi Experts

Throughout the event, participants interacted with researchers, faculty, and female STEM professionals. Emerging topics like artificial intelligence, engineering, space science, and healthcare technology were the focus of the sessions.

By exposing them to accomplished female role models in the fields of science and technology, the mentorship program sought to motivate pupils. Additionally, experts advised students on STEM-related job paths and options for higher education.

IIT Delhi’s Effort Towards Gender Inclusion

IIT Delhi Director Prof. Rangan Banerjee emphasized the value of encouraging more girls to pursue STEM careers in his speech at the event. He emphasized the importance of inclusiveness and diversity for scientific advancement and creativity.
